England and Argentina went head to head in the final of the Women’s Nations Cup on Thursday, December 17, on Palermo’s number two ground. The international women’s tournament saw three teams – Argentina, United States and England – compete. Teams were rated between 22 and 23 goals. 

 

After defeating the United States, Argentina and England battled for the title in the final. The local team managed to claim an 8-2 victory.

 

Tournament matches were composed of eight chukkas of 4.30 mins each. Of the participants,  two were 10-goalers and six had participated in the V Argentine Women’s Open.

 

Prizes were presented by Delfín Uranga, President of the Argentine Association of Polo, and Horacio Areco, President of the Federation of International Polo (FIP). FIP representatives Alex Taylor and Ricardo Mihanovich  were also in attendance.

Argentina: Paulina Vasquetto 0, Azucena Uranga 5 (1 goal), Milagros Sánchez 7 (5 penalties), Lía Salvo 10 (2). Total: 22.

England: Georgie Cunningham 1, Stephanie Haverhals 4, Milly Hine 7 (1 penalty),  Hazel Jackson 10 (1 penalty). Total: 22.

Score Argentina: 0-0, 1-0, 1-0, 2-1, 3-1, 5-2, 6-2, 8-2.
