El Overo Z7 UAE beat La Dolfina 10-7, and won the VIII Argentine Women’s Open, following the final that was played on Saturday December 7, at Palermo. Therefore, El Overo Z7 UAE are now tied with La Dolfina in titles, since both teams have won the prestigious ladies tournaments four times. In addition, and on a personal side, Candelaria Fernández Araujo became the player who claimed the title more than anyone else, five times – four with La Dolfina and one with El Overo Z7 UAE. Also, the British player, Milly Hine, was the top scorer of the tournament (24 goals).

The match had a very balanced start with a 1-all in the first chukka and a scoreless second chukka. But from the third chukka onwards, El Overo Z7 UAE, led by the powerful Candelaria Fernández Araujo and Hazel Jackson, seized the reins, and earned significant advantages, that led them to an impressive 6-2 lead by half time. However, La Dolfina bounced back in the fifth chukka, when they were able to stay two goals behind (5-7). That’s all they could do, because their contenders demostrated to be solid enough to maintain the dominace. The damage has been already done, and at the end of the day, El Overo Z7 UAE were victorious.

It’s worth to notice that La Hache Thai Polo claimed the Subsidiary, after defeating Chapa Uno Finca La Rosina 7-5, in the deciding match that was played at the AAP Headquarters, in Pilar, on Thursday December 5.

The VIII Argentine Women’s Open was entirely played at the Argentine Association of Polo Headquarters, in Pilar, and saw four teams between 21 and 35 goals (ladies handicap), partake.
