The USPA Gold Cup, second leg of The Gauntlet of Polo, kicked off on Tuesday, March 1, at the International Polo Club Palm Beach, in Wellington, Florida. Day one saw Cessna take a narrow OT 13-12 win over Coca Cola (who received one goal on handicap), with Gringo Colombres scoring the golden goal.

But the most important news of the day was Nico Pieres’ comeback to competitive polo, after several months off due to a serious fall he suffered during the Hurlingham Open last year. The injury required important surgery in the United States. Luckily, Nico is back in action!

The USPA Gold Cup sees thirteen teams, up to 22 goals, compete. The final will be played on Sunday, March 27.
