A new edition of the Ylvisaker Cup kicked off on Tuesday January 28. The Ylvisaker Cup is the second stage of the four qualifying tournaments, following the Joe Barry Memorial Cup, and culminating in the NPC 16-Goal Championship, with the big final set to be played on Sunday April 13 at the National Polo Center, in Wellington, Florida, United States.

 

The Ylvisaker Cup, established in 2003, is named after William T. “Bill” Ylvisaker, a true pioneer of the sport and the responsible for developing the Wellington area, in Florida, into a high-goal winter polo. The founder of the Palm Beach Polo and Country Club, Bill Ylvisaker contributed extensively to spread not only polo but also other equestrian sports, in the 70s and 80s. The current Ylvisaker Cup sees twelve teams up to 16 goals, partake.  Teams are split in four brackets.past decade.

The semifinals of the Ylvisaker Cup are set for Wednesday February 12, and the final will take place on Sunday February 16.
