Tonkawa beat Casablanca 11-9, and ran out the champion of the Triple Crown of Polo, the fourth and last tournament of the 2025 World Polo League, that took place on Saturday April 19, at the Ganzi family’s Club, Grand Champions Polo Club, in Wellington Florida, United States.
The Triple Crown of Polo, that kicked off on Wednesday April 9, saw four teams up to 26 goals, partake, with some of the most renowned stars of the sports in participation, such as Tomás Panelo, Juan Martín Nero Nero, Gonzalito Pieres, Rufino Bensadón, el Sapo Caset andJuan Martín Zubía, among others.
The final was not complicated at all for Jeff Hildebrand’s lineup, or at least during the first half, when they managed to take significant advantages (2-1, 4-1 and 7-3). However, and after half time, Casablanca, led by a remarkable performance delivered by Sapo Caset who scored seven goals, made a comeback in the two following chukkas, and by the time to play the sixth and last chukka, they were just one goal behind (8-9). But Tonkawa seized the reins again and determined to seal the deal, they produced two crucial goals that led them to win last title of the World Polo League.
It’s worth to notice that the Tonkawa and Casablanca split 2025 World Polo League between the two of them, with two titles each – Tonkawa claimed The Palm Beach Open and the Triple Crown of Polo, while Casablanca were victorious in the All-Star Challenge and The Founders Cup.
