The Qualification Tournament Copa Remonta & Veterinaria continued with the second matchdate on Wednesday September 16, at the Argentine Association of Polo, in Pilar. The competition is very significant, indeed, because it gives two spots to play the ultimate polo tournament in the world, the Argentine Open, the dream of every polo player.
La Aguada and La Irenita II opened fire, with the former already with a victory under their belt. They claimed their second game following a terrific second chukka, when they produced three unanswered goals that led them to a 19-16 win, that left La Irenita II out of the contest. Up next, La Irenita Clinova defeated La Dolfina. The Cañuelas-based foursome got off to a better start, but a determined La Irenita bounced back and at the end of the day, they won 11-9. Therefore, League B will be determined in the last matchdate, next Monday.
League A saw La Matera against La Ensenada II, in a very thrilling and hard fought match that was only decided in extra chukka. Cubi Toccalino, who subbed in for Santos Merlos in the last chukka, produced the goal that secured La Matera the victory. And like La Irenita II, La Ensenada II have no chances to play Palermo. Last but not least, La Zeta Kazak delivered their best polo and beat La Esquina 18-11. Therefore, La Zeta Kazak and La Matera will clash next Monday for one of the two spots to play the Argentine Open.
