A new edition of the Open de Paris will commence on Saturday June 11. The prestigious tournament will take place in the lavish and glamorous Polo de Paris, and will see seven teams up to 12 goals split in two leagues compete for the coveted trophy.

Set in the heart of Bois de Boulogne, only ten minutes from the center of Paris and the banks of the Seine, the club recalls the polo field in Palermo, located in the heart of Buenos Aires. Polo reached Paris towards the end of the XIX Century, in 1891. In April of the following year, a group of polo lovers, including Polo de Paris founders Viscount de la Rochefoucald-Doudeaville and the Duke of Estrées, began constructing the club. They rented land from the City of Paris which was previously used by French officers to prepare for equestrian events. The club came together bit by bit and Polo de París was officially opened on August 1, 1892. Founder Viscount de la Rochefoucald-Doudeaville became the first President of the club. The first season kicked off on April 15, 1893, with the first edition of the Paris Open.

The order of play of the opening day of the Open de Paris is the following:

1,30pm: Baron d’Avella vs. Ste. Mesme (at Ste. Mesme)

2pm: Le Hamo vs. Costa Rica (Polo de Paris)

3,30pm: Kazak vs. Red Falcon (Polo de Paris)

The final of the Open de Paris will be played on Sunday June 26.
