A new double matchdate for the Polo Nations Cup took place on Tuesday June 18, at the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly. Although the tournament is approaching the semifinals, no team is yet confirmed to step into the next stage of the contest.

Terrain 1 hosted the two games. Hamburg-Germany and Rhone Alps-France clashed in the first. Both teams won one match each, so the two of them needed a win to maintain their hopes to be among the best four. At the end of the day, the French lineup claimed a 8-4 win. The victory secured the foursome composed of Sebastian Aguettant (0), Tomás Ferrari (3), Gregorio Gelosi (4) and Santiago Irastorza (5) a penalty shootout to search a spot in the semifinals.

The second contest saw Belgium and Illinois-USA. The Animals foursome had already two victories and a third would secure them a place within the next phase. Meanwhile, the Americans needed to win to, at least, force a penalty shootout. And they got it – Larry Aschebrook (0), Elouan Badarello (1). Pedro Harrison (5) and Valentín Novillo Astrada (6) claimed their second win by a narrow 7-6.5 score.

The Polo Nations Cup will resume on Wednesday June 19, with the following games: Bavaria-Germany vs California-USA, Italy vs Lahorse-Pakistán and Paca-France vs Occitanie-France.
