Following the delay due to heavy rainfalls in France, the 24th. Open de France Barnes resumed at the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly, with a triple matchdate on Friday August 6.

 

Kazak, current title holders and one of the strongest contenders to lift the trophy, and Essso played the first game. Sébastien Aguettant’s foursome had a remarkable start, beating their contenders 10-7. Tomás Ferrari, who produced five goals, was named MVP.

 

The second game saw one of the most powerful French organisations, Sainte Mesme, and the Italian foursome, Rinidia, who recently competed in the 53rd. International Polo Tournament Andalucía, in Sotogrande. Sainte Mesme displayed their best polo in the two first chukkas, which was crucial to hold on to the lead for the remaining of the game. At the end of the day, the 8-6 win went to Robert strom’s team, who had Raúl Laplacette as their flagship man.

 

Last, but not least, Animales clashed against Eternal J. The Belgium-based lineup got off to a better start, led by Tito Ruiz Guiñazu, but the French team managed to bounce back, and claimed a narrow 8-7 victory.
