The Kusnacht Practice claimed the Snow Polo World Cup, the most renowned snow polo tournament, following their 5-4.5 win over Azerbaijan Land Of Fire, in the championship match that was played on Sunday January 26, on the frozen lake in the magnificient and exclusive ski resort, St. Moritz, in Switzerland, on a very special year, since the contest celebrated its 40th. anniversary.

There was plenty of snowfalls in the morning, which threatened the tournament to be decided on penalty shootout, like last year. Fortunately, weather conditions improved, and the finals were played as scheduled. The first match had Mackage and Taos going head-to-head for the Casablanca Cup. The match ended in a tie in regulation time, and the result had to be determined through a penalty shootout, with the former victorious. Up next, World Polo League claimed a 7-5.5 victory over FlexJet, to win the Mackage Trophy.

Last but not least, packed grandsstands awaited for the much anticipated final, the clash between The Kusnacht Practice and Azerbaijan Land of Fire. The latter, led by the two Laplacette brothers, Adrián and Raúl, got off to a stronger start, but their contenders bounced back slowly, under the command of Isidro Astrada. They took the lead in the third chukka, and at the end of the day, they secured a 5-4.5 victory, and the prestigious title.
