The polo season in Spain kicked off on Friday April 4 with a new edition of the Iberian Polo Tour, due at Santa Maria Polo Club, Los Pinos grounds, in Sotogrande. The 2025 Iberian Polo Tour will showcase three competitions – José Ignacio Domecq Cup, Barón de Strabrock Cup and Copa de Jerez Cup.
The opening contest, the José Ignacio Domecq Cup, sees six teams up to 8 goals. Teams are split in two leagues, and will play five matches each. The two best postioned within the standings will qualify to the final, on Sunday April 13. Those placed third and fourth will go for the Selecciones de Amberes Cup. In addition, there will be a match to decide fifth and sixth place.
Currently, Quinto Elemento, Almasanta and La Capilla played one game each and were victorious. The rest lost their respective contests – Adrenalina and Real Club Pineda (0-2) Emlor Elemental (0-1).
