The prestigious Hublot Polo Gold Cup commenced on Thursday August 22 at the Polo Club Gstaad, in Gstaad, Switzerland, sorrounded by the beauty of the Swiss Alps, on the impeccable grounds set in the Gstaad/Saanen airfields, that provides a magnificient scenario for a unique competition.  The contest sees four teams up to 14 goals, partake, who will compete for the coveted trophy up to Sunday August 25.

 

Gstaad Palace and J. Safra Sarasin opened fire. The locals, commanded by a remarkable Raúl Laplacette, who is aiming for a hat trick in Gstaad, remained in the lead from the second chukka onwards. At the end of the day, luck was on the Meier family’s team, who claimed a 10-6 win.

 

Up next, Hublot and Kielder Agro rode onto the field to play the second contest. With Max Charlton as their flagship man – he produced six goals – Kielder Agro bounced back in the second chukka, but their momentum came in the fourth chukka, when they earned a wide advantage, that allowed them to seal the deal through an impressive 9.5-5 win.

 

The Hublot Polo Gold Cup will be back on Saturday August 24, with the semifinals:
