The Gold Cup, the highlight of the 53rd. International Tournament Andalucía, hosted by Ayala Polo Club, commenced on Monday August 19. A total of twenty teams split in three levels – high goal (7 teams), medium goal (5), and low goal (8), will compete for the last trophy of the season in Sotogrande.

Medium goal opened fire with two games. Electric Polo and Jolly Roger clashed on Los Pinos ground two in a match that saw plenty of goals, but at the end of the day luck was on Niclas Johansson’s team. Meanwhile, Brueni and Amanara, the recent winners of the Silver Cup, met in the second match, that saw the former victorious.

Last but not least, high goal kicked off on ground four, with a single match, La Dolfina Dos Lunas vs. Calatagan. Calatagan had a stronger start, led by Antonio Heguy, until Adolfo Cambiaso showed up, in an impressive comeback for the Argentinian-Spaniard lineup, who claimed their debut win in the Gold Cup.

The finals of the Gold Cup are due on Friday August 30 (medium goal) and Saturday August 31 (high goal and low goal).
