The 53rd. International Polo Tournament Andalucía kicked off on Tuesday July 23, at Ayala Polo Club, set in Sotogrande, in the South of Spain. As usual, the most significant contest in Spain is split in three levels – high goal, medium goal and low goal. All of them will compete for the Bronze Cup, Silver Cup and Gold Cup.

Action started with the quarter finals of the low goal Bronze Cup (6-8 hcp). Calatagan, the recent winners of the Memorila Manuel Prado y Colón de Carbajal beat Signet 7-4. Calatagan will clash in semifinals against La Capilla, who claimed a 12.5 win over C.H. Kazuki.

Later in the afternoon, Polothanda and 1896 Polo defeated Grupo Mendizabal (8-7) and Polo Valley (13-7), respectively, and will play the semifinals next Thursday. The final is due on Saturday July 27.

In the meantime, the low goal medium goal will only have a final between John Smith and Electric Polo. Last but not least, two semifinals are due to be played for the high goal Bronze Cup – Calatagnan vs. Sainte Mesme and John Smith vs. Electric Polo.
