On Monday August 19, Talandracas earned their third consecutive victory and secured the first spot in the championship match of the prestigious Coupe d’Or, the highlight of the season at the Deauville International Polo Club, located in Normandy, France. The tournament sees five teams up to 16 goals, in participation. The match was not that easy for Edouard Carmignac’s foursome; they were behind Eternal J until half time, and they made an impressive comeback in the two last chukkas, to claim a narrow 10-9 win; therefore, they remained unbeaten and stepped into the final. Talandracas’s last contenders in the qualification stage will be the current title holders, Barriere-Télédou, on Wednesday August 21.
And speaking of Barriére-Télédou, Isabelle Larenaudie and Co., earned their second win in the tournament, on Sunday August 18, when they beat the recent winners of the Coupe d’Argent, Alejandro Aznar’s Marqués de Riscal, by a 14-11 score.
COUPE DE BRONZE
Int he meantime, the 8-goal Coupe de Bronze (8 goles), will resume on Tuesday August 20.
The finals of the Coupe d’Or and the Coupe de Bronze will take place on Sunday August 25.
