The Joe Barry Memorial Cup resumed on Monday at International Polo Club Palm Beach, in Wellington, USA. The tournament sees eleven teams up to 20 goals in competition. In the third match day, Grand Champions beat SD Farms by a solid 11-7.
The match got off to an even start, and both teams were tied 5-all at halftime. But Grand Champions pulled away in the fifth, winning the chukkas 3-0, thanks to a couple of goals by Mike Azzaro and one by Nico Pieres. That was enough to give them their debut win.
Grand Champions: Grant Ganzi 2 (1 goal), Juancito Bollini 4 (1), Nico Pieres 8 (5), Mike Azzaro 6 (4).
SD Farms: Felipe Miguens 2, Adam Snow 5 (2), Iñaki Laprida 7 (4), Peco Polledo 6 (1).
Score Grand Champions: 2-1, 4-3, 5-5, 7-6, 10-6, 11-7.
After rain suspended a couple opf matchdays, the Joe Barry Memorial Cup will resume on Thursday with the following order of play:
12pm: Goose Creek vs. Postage Stamp
12pm: Travieso vs La Indiana
3pm: Coca-Cola vs Pilot
3pm: Grand Champions vs Tonkawa
