The Argentine Association of Polo Headquarters, set in Pilar, hosted the championship match of one of the most significant tournaments of the Spring Season in Argentina, the Municipalidad de Pilar Cup, between Sol de Agosto and La Natividad. The decisive match was played on Tuesday October 22.

Following a quick 1-2 advantage for La Natividad in the first chukka, Sol de Agosto seized the reins from the second onwards, led by Gringo Colombres and Paquito de Narvaez’s accuracy to convert penalties. But in the fourth chukka, La Natividad made a comeback and tied at 9-all. However, Gringo Colombres produced the goal that put Sol de Agosto back on the lead – 10-9 – and within less than 90 seconds in regulation times, a remarkable personal play by José Riglos, ended between the goalposts to tie 10-10, which sent the final into extra chukka. That’s when Paquito de Narvaez successfully converted a 40-yards penalty that secured Sol de Agosto de 11-10 win and the title.
