Following the semifinals, that took place on Thursday April 20, Santa María de Lobos and Cuatro Vientos secured their spots in the championship match of the República Argentina Cup, he most coveted trophy of the Autumn season in Argentina, after the last league matches played at the  AAP Headquarters, in Pilar on Monday April 17 and Tuesday April 18. The tournament, established in 1929, is special because teams rated from 0 to 40 goals, from all over the country, are elegible to play. The league stages and the semifinals have been played between at the AAP grounds in Pilar, while the final for the main trophy is due to take place at Palermo. The 2023 República Argentina Cup sees sixteen teams between 16 and 23 goals, partake. Teams are split in four leagues.

 

It is worth noting that the República Argentina Cup is played on handicap and ties are permitted during the qualification stage.

 

Santa María de Lobos defeated Estancia Grande (received one goal on handicap) 16-11, and Cuatro Vientos (received 3 goals on handicap), claimed an impressive 16-8 win over Pilarchico. Santa María de Lobos and Cuatro Vientos (Santiago Chavanne’s and his son Lorenzo’s lineup, and the winners in 2021), will go head-to-head for the trophy on Saturaday April 22, at 3pm. The final will be held on Palermo’s field 2.

 

Meanwhile, La Natividad and La Chavita will go for the Canada Cup, after defeating Lomas de Zamora and Washington RS, respectively. The semifinals of the Diario La Nación Cup weren´t played; La Quebrada Synergy Cloning and Venado Tuerto gave their points away, so Altamira and La Lucía will clash in the final. Both games are due in Pilar, on Saturday April 22, at 11am.
