The Qualification Tournaments Copa Remonta y Veterinaria, kicked off on Friday October 11, at the Argentine Association of Polo Headquarters, in Pilar. The competition, that sees eight teams between 28 and 31 goals, in participation, gives two teams the chance to play in the upcoming 131st.  Argentine Open. Teams are split in two leagues, and the winners of each league will earn a spot in the world’s most important polo event, each.

With regards with the games within League A, La Zeta Kazak, with Nicolás Pieres as their flagship man, claimed a 13-11 win against La Ensenada. The young and talented Lorenzo Chavanne produced eight goals for the winners. Up next, Jared Zenni scored the goal that secured La Matera a narrow 13-12 victory over La Esquina, within the 30 aditional seconds. As for League B matches, Pedrinho Zacharias’ remarkable performance was crucial to give La Aguada a 17-14 win over La Irenina Clinova. Last but not least, La Dolfina, with Gonzalo Ferrari who will sub in for Adolfo Cambiaso in the Tortugas Open, during the former’s recovery from his injury, made an impressive comeback in the two last chukkas to beat La Irenita II by a 14-13 score.

The Qualification Tournament will resume on Wednesday October 16, in Pilar.
