Los Schatzies continue on the winning path in Sotogrande. After claiming the two first tournaments hosted by Ayala Polo Club, the Copa Bienvenida and the Copa Joseph McMicking, the German lineup obtained their third consecutive title, the Open de España, after defeating Legacy Polo, in the championship match that took place on Sunday June 30. It’s worth to notice that Los Schatzies retained the title they obtained last year.

But it was a very busy Sunday at Ayala Polo Club. In addition to the main final, Esos defeated Pampa y La Via by a close 7-6.5 and earned the third place of the Copa Nido Estepona, while Ventidue claimed a 6-3 win over Hanumann and claimed the Copa Nido Estepona. With regards with the Open de España, the third place went to Rhone Hill, who beat John Smith 9-6.

The big moment came when title holders, Los Schatzies, clashed against Legacy Polo for the Open de España. While Los Schatzies went on to retain the title, Legacy Polo aimed to obtain their first Open de España in their debut season. But following four hard fought chukkas, luck was again on the German foursome’s side, and Los Schatzies were victorious 10-7.
