The polo season in England is beginning to warm up at the different clubs, and while we await the high-goal tournaments, the medium-goal tournaments are the main attraction in these last days of April and the first days of May. At Guards Polo Club, where The Queen’s Cup will be held from May 20 to June 15, a new edition of The Queen Mother’s Centenary Trophy will begin on Sunday, April 27.
The historic tournament, which will be held at the club located just outside London, near the royal gardens of Windsor Castle, will feature nineteen teams of up to 15 goals, featuring world-class sports figures. The highest-goal players in the competition will be argentines Facundo Sola and Diego Cavanagh, both with 8 goals.
Regarding the format, the tournament is split into four groups (one consisting of seven teams and the other three with four), from which the top four will advance directly to the semifinals, and four more will advance to the subsidiary semifinals. The top two will then compete in the final, scheduled for Sunday, May 11, at 3:30 p.m. (English time).
