The Memorial Fundador Enrique Zobel kicked off on Thursday, July 8, in Sotogrande. The tournament sees eight teams, split in two levels (14-goal and 8-goal), compete. The tournament will run through to July 18, with the most important clubs of the area – Ayala, Santa María Polo Club and Dos Lunas – hosting the action.
The opening day saw Nairobi defeat East Polo, and Marques de Riscal beat Ayala. Action resumes on Friday, with two games.
This season marks a new era for polo in Sotogrande, with Ayala acting as the main host of the action. The club is supported by Minuto Siete, Dos Lunas Polo & Dressage Club, and Santa María Polo Club. This season promises to be a memorable one, running through to the end of August, the month when the high goal returns to Sotogrande.
