The semifinals of the medium goal Terralpa Silver Cup took place on Tuesday, August 10, at Ayala Polo Club. Cibao La Pampa and John Smith claimed victories to qualify for the final. The tournament marks the second stage of the 50th Anniversary Torneo Internacional de Polo by La Reserva Club de Sotogrande.

First up, Cibao La Pampa dominated Nairobi from the start of the match, taking a crucial 5-0 advantage in the first chukka. Nairobi were able to even the score in the third chukka, but it was too late. Cibao La Pampla were solid as a team, taking control of the action to secure the 14-6 win. Brothers Juan and Jorge Pepa will now be playing for the title on Friday. 

Next, John Smith and ATL Marine & Energy played a very intense semi, with John Smith taking control in the first chukka, shutting down every offensive attempt made by ATL Marine & Energy. John Smith widen their advantage chukka after chukka to claim the 14-9 victory. The win means they will play Cibao La Pampa for the title. 

The Terralpa Silver Cup continues on Wednesday, August 11, with the high goal semifinals at Santa María Polo Club:

Sotogrande’s 50th anniversary tournament is being played at Ayala Polo Club, Santa María Polo Club, and Dos Lunas Polo & Dressage. The tournament sees twelve teams, split into two categories, compete. The high goal is for 18-20 goal teams, while the medium goal is for 12-14 goal teams.
