La Irenita and Las Rosas La Natividad will clash for the República Argentina Cup, following the semifinals that were held at the Argentine Association of Polo Headquarters, in Pilar, on Thursday March 27. The prestigious tournament, the highlight of the Autumn season in Argentina, and the only contest in the world that allow teams between 0-40 to participate, saw sixteen teams, in competition.

The first semifinal had two organisations from Cañuelas, Las Rosas La Natividad and La Dolfina Oriental, in a contest that was dominated by the green jerseys. Halfway the game, everything was almost said and done. In the meantime, La Dolfina Oriental’s Pelon Stirling, had to be replaced by Cruz Heguy. However, the damage was already done, and Las Rosas La Natividad claimed an impressive 14-7 win and the first ticket to the final.

La Irenita – who received seven goals on handicap – and Estancia Grande played up next. Although Estancia Grande managed to bounce back until they were one goal behind. with only two minutes left in the last chukka. But La Irenita made a comeback, to seal the 18-15 victory and the second spot in the final.

Therefore, Las Rosas La Natividad and La Irenita will go head-to-head for the República Argentina Cup on Saturday March 29. Previously, Ellerstina and Trenque Lauquen will go for the Subsidiary La Nación Cup. Both games are due at Palermo. Admittance is free.
