Following their wins in the matches played at the AAP Headquarters, in Pilar, on Thursday, October 20, for the Qualification Tournament Copa Remonta y Veterinaria, which gives two teams the chance to compete in the Argentine Open at Palermo, La Esquina and Alegria will go head to head to determine who takes the second spot in the Argentine Open. Both teams claimed 10-9 wins, but the victory was harder to come by for La Esquina, who needed two extra chukkas to seal the deal.
La Esquina, with Juan Zubiaurre subbing in for the Spaniard Pascual Sainz de Vicuña in the second extra chukka due to an injury, defeated La Fija, who also had a replacement in that second extra time, Lucas Criado Jr., who subbed in for the injured Felipe Vercellino. Meanwhile, Fred Mannix’s team claimed a victory over Trenque Lauquen. Therefore, La Esquina and Alegria will clash on Tuesday October 25, for the second ticket to Palermo.
The Qualification Tournament Copa Remonta y Veterinaria sees eight teams, up to 30 goals, split into two leagues.
