La Dolfina defeated La Ensenada II 15-11 and ran out the champions of the Cámara de Diputados Cup, following the championship match that took place at the Argentine Association of Polo Headquarters, in Pilar. Therefore, La Dolfina will have the opportunity to to go to a playoff with the eighth team within the 2023 Ranking, following the Argentine Open. The winner of the playoff will be able to play the 2025 Triple Crown.
The Cámara de Diputados Cup, one of the most remarkable tournaments of the polo season in Argentina, is celebrating its centenary this years. The contest saw sixteen teams between 24 and 31 goals, in participation – the six who didn’t qualify to play the Argentine Open and the ten best of the Municipalidad de Pilar Cup.
While La Ensenada won the first chukka 2-0, La Dolfina bounced back from the second chukka onwards; led by an outstanding performance delivered by Lucas Criado Jr., who produced eight goals and was very well supported by his team mates, the Cañuelas-based foursome seized the reins and widened their advantage thoroghout the remaining of the game; they had a four goal lead (14-10) by the start of the last chukka. At the end of the day, La Dolfina only needed to score once to secure the 15-11 victory and earn the coveted trophy.
