The finals of the Copa República Argentina took place on Monday on Palermo’s number one and two grounds. The biggest winner of the afternoon was La Dolfina Brava, who beat Chapaleufú 14 goals to 13 in the final. Chapaleufú made a great comeback after starting 0-9 down in the first due to handicap.

It was the first ever Republica title for the players of La Dolfina Brava. Chapaleufú’s Lariguet brothers and Santiago Goñi remain titleless in the tournament. Alberto Garzarón, however, had previously won it in 1994 with Federico Reuman, Santiago Nagore and Luis Ortiz de Urbina, also playing for Chapaleufu.

After the final, the AAP honored the members of Los Baguales, winners of the Republica in 1968. Plácido Martínez Sobrado, Alberto Fano, Benjamín Amaya (on behalf of his father Eduardo) and Eduardo Pondé (brother of Rodolfo) each received a medal.
