The championship match of the 130th. Hurlingham Open, the first leg of the 2023 Triple Crown, will be decided on Saturday October 7, at the Hurlingham Club. The match is set to be played on the club’s main ground, which has been fixed to greet reigning champions, La Dolfina Saudi, and La Hache Polo Team, who will be playing their first ever final of the Triple Crown.
It is worth noting that the Cañuelas-based foursome is the clear favourite, having swept La Irenita Clinova and Ellerstina Yellow Rose to obtain their ticket to the final. In addition, they maintained the same lineup as in 2022. Meanwhile, there a lot of expectations within La Hache Polo Team, following a spectacular win over La Natividad in semifinals. The lineup is made of four players who are up to the task and will aim to make history within Argentine polo. The young and talented Rufino Bensadon will sub in once again for the injured Polito Pieres
With regards to the historical facts of the eight players, the four reigning champions are well aware about lifting the Ayshire Cup. Meanwhile, La Hache Polo Team’s Hilario Ulloa is the team’s only player who has a title in Hurlingham – with Ellerstina, in 2020. Both Guillermo Caset and Francisco Elizalde have played the final a couple of times, and for Rufino Bensadon, this will be his very first final of the Triple Crown.
