The Charriol Women’s International came to an end on Sunday at Saint Tropez Polo Club. The tournament saw four 14-goal teams (female handicap) in competition. This tournament in the French Riviera has established itself as a classic, and forms an integral part of the women’s international polo calendar.
Two of the most important polo players in the world, Hazel Jackson and Lía Salvo, faced off in the final. Lía was fighting to defend the title won by Maple Leaf in 2017, but this year the glory went to English player Jackson, who showed her strength and great skill, scoring five goals for La Bandada.
After the finals, a ‘Sunday Polo’ event, a traditional part of the Tropezienne social life, was held at the club.
