The undefeated Dubai claimed their second win in the Justerini & Brooks Prince of Wales Trophy following their victory over Cibao La Pampa, in the match that took place on Wednesday May 17, on Dubai grounds, in England. The Justerini & Brooks Prince of Wales Trophy, one of the most significant competitions in England opens the high goal season in the country and it is hosted by the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club. The tournament sees ten teams up to 22 goals, partake.
The final is due to be played on Saturday May 20.
Cibao La Pampa got off to a better start, led by Tomás Panelo, who produced three goals to claim a 3-1 lead by the end of the first chukka. They managed to retain their advantage until half time, despite Dubai’s pressure to close the gap; but things would change for Rashid Albwardy’s lineup from the fourth chukka onwards. Led by their flagship man, Jeta Castagnola, who converted four penalties to outscore Cibao La Pampa 4-0; from then on, the match belonged to Dubai, who earned their second consecutive win in the tournament. It is worth noting that Jeta delivered an outstanding performance; the only player who is currently rated at 10-goals in Argentina, United States, England and Spain, scored no less than 12 goals.
