The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club announced the teams and fixture of the upcoming Justerini & Brook Prince of Wales Trophy, which marks the start of the 22-goal season in England. The tournament begins on Wednesday, May 4.

One of the most important competitions in English polo, the Justerini & Brook Prince of Wales Trophy has been played since 1986 at the club located in Winkfield, near Windsor, which was established by the late Bryan Morrison. HRH Prince Charles Prince of Wales opened the club as its first member. Morrison is remembered for his passion for polo, but also for being a music mogul who managed the careers of rock stars such as Pink Floyd, The Jam, The Bee Gees, The Police, and George Michael, among others.

The 2022 edition of the Justerini & Brook Prince of Wales Trophy will see ten teams, up to 22 goals, compete. Teams will be split into two leagues. Current title holders Thai Polo will be in competition, albeit with a couple of changes to their lineup. The remaining members of the 2021 team, brothers Louis and Ned Hine, will be joined by  Facundo Llosa and Glen Gilmore. Alejandro Muzzio and Rufino Bensadon, the two former members of Thai Polo, will play with Juan Pepa’s team Cibao La Pampa/Chapaleufú, which will make its debut in the British high goal season, as will Charles Wooldridge with Twelve Oaks. Another team making a significant comeback to British high goal is Dubai, with a lineup that includes Rashid Albwardy and Camilo Castagnola, who won the British Open Gold Cup in 2019.

The final of the Justerini & Brook Prince of Wales Trophy is set to be played on Saturday, May 14.
