On Sunday April 9, Iconica defeated La Fe 14-11, and claimed the first edition of the Florida Circuit 16-Goal Super-Series Championship, after the championship match that took place at the USPA-owned National Polo Center Wellington, in Wellington, Florida. It was the perfect close of a phenomenal 16-goal season for Maureen Brennan and her boys, who already earned their place in the big final, after they were victorious in the Joe Barry Memorial Cup and the Ylvisaker Cup.

 

La Fe earned their spot in the decisive game, following their 13-9 win over BTA on Thursday April 6.  

 

The Florida Circuit 16-Goal Super-Series Championship’s inaugural season was an innovative effort spearheaded by the USPA Tournament Committee to draw more teams and participation into medium-goal competition, the Florida Circuit 16-Goal Super-Series Championship has been a true testament of collaboration. To reinforce the idea that all participation is encouraged, players could compete in as many events as they would like on either the same team or on different teams, however, qualifying teams must maintain at least two of their original members in order to play in the championship. Dominating in each qualifier they entered, such as the Joe Barry Memorial Cup, Ylvisaker Cup, Iconica secured their spot in the final, with a remarkable 15-1 record, and ran out the first ever champions of the series.
