The dates for this year’s Iberian Polo Tour, a series of tournaments organised by Spanish professional Pelayo Berazadi, have been announced. This will be the fourth edition of the tour, and the third consecutive year the competition takes place.
The circuit will be divided in three stages, beginning on December 6 and concluding on the 22 of that same month. Three tournaments will be played over three weekends, either at Ayala Polo Club or Santa María Polo Club, proving once again that Sotogrande is an ideal place to enjoy polo all year round.
“The Iberian Polo Tour was created so that polo could be played outside of the traditional summer season,” shares Berazadi, Director of the Tour. “We have the best fields in Europe and a spectacular climate which few other countries have during this time of year.”
“The objective is to encourage polo to be played throughout the year, not only from June to August,” he continues. “I learnt to play polo here in Sotogrande, and as a promoter of the area, I decided to create the Iberian Polo Tour.”
As well as the three competitions that make up the circuit, the tour organises a junior tournament that will be played on each of the three Sundays.
Several teams have already confirmed their participation in the Iberian Polo Tour 2019, which, apart from the sporting attraction, will also boast an exciting social agenda.
