The 130th. Hurlingham Open, the first leg of the 2023 Triple Crown in Argentina, continued on Wednesday September 27, with the two last quarter final games. The tournament sees eight teams up to 40 goals, in participation. Following wins by La Dolfina Saudi and Ellerstina Yellow Rose in the opening day, La Natividad and Hache Polo Team were victorious in the second matchdate, and qualified to the semifinals.

In the first contest, La Natividad’s brand new lineup, with Pablo MacDonough and Facundo Pieres, defeated La Hache Cría & Polo 25-11. It is worth noticing the remarkable performance delivered by Camilo Castagnola, who produced no less than eighteen goals, just one goal behind of his uncle Adolfo Cambiaso’s 19 goals record in the same tournament, in 2009.

With regards to the second match, Rufino Bensadon subbed in for Polito Pieres in La Hache Polo Team, in addition to the very good performance by Francisco Elizalde as a back, a position the La Pampa-born player is not so used that much, since he’s been playing as a 2. At the same time, he was his team’s top scorer, with six goals.
