Reigning champions, La Dolfina, are through the championship match of the 130th. Hurlingham Open for the Ayshire Cup, following their 11-7 win over Ellerstina (who had Brazilian Rodrigo Ribeiro de Andrade subbing in for Bautista Bayugar), in the semifinal match that took place on Saturday September 30, at Palermo. La Dolfina dominated the first half of the game, and managed to take an impressive five goal lead (8-3) in the fourth chukka. However, Ellerstina managed to bounce back in a very well played fifth chukka to remain one goal behind. After a scoreless sixth chukka, Poroto Cambiaso and Juan Martín Nero produced two goals that sealed the deal and gave La Dolfina the first ticket to the final.

Previously, in the first semifinal of the Subsidiary Drysdale Cup, Cría La Dolfina beat La Irenita Clinova (with Matías Torres Zavaleta back on the saddle) by a 11-9 score, in a very tight and balanced match. In the fifth chukka, the Cañuelas-based team took off, but La Irenita Clinova never gave up, until they managed to close the gap to just one goal (8-9) in the sixth chukka. However, luck was on Cría La Dolfina’s side, and led by a remarkable performance by Tomás Panelo, they claimed the win and the first spot in the final, that will be played on Thursday October 5, in Pilar.
