Huge success Nic Roldan’s Sunset Polo & White Party in aid of Brooke USA

The third edition of Nic Roldan’s Sunset Polo & White Party in aid of Brookes USA took place on Friday at the Wanderers Club, in Wellington. The event, hosted by Mark and Katherine Bellissimo, was as exciting on the field as it was off it. The afternoon began with a round robin polo tournament, where three teams played six chukka matches. Nic Roldan, Kris Kampsen, Brandon Phillips, and Henry Porter took to the field alongside youngsters such as Poroto Cambiaso and Antonio Aguerre, who are following in their fathers’ footsteps.

The highlight of Nic Roldan’s Sunset Polo & White Party was once again the silent auction, which raised funds for Brooke USA, the charity that Roldan has been working with over the last few years. Over a thousand guests turned up to the party and to support the silent auction, which saw items like signed shirts up for grabs, and trips such as a polo week in Aspen, courtesy of Grant Ganzi, who was one of the most notable donors.

Once the sporting action and silent auction were over, it was time for the annual White Party, where the guests danced the night away, all for a good cause. Cowdray Estate, Tregothnan, Provident Jewelry and Tito’s Handmade Vodka all supported the event.

The Cowdray Estate award for the Best Playing Pony went to Taquara.

After the event, Nic Roldan spoke to Pololine: “Luckily everything turned out great. A lot of people came out to support the cause, and we were able to raise more than last year. It was fun to have Poroto Cambiaso and Antonio Aguerre play with us. We had a really nice group of players on the field, and many people came to have fun. It was really satisfying to be able to gather so many people to support this great cause. I think there were over a thousand people here, that’s more than there were last year. The event has grown year on year. The work that Brooke does around the world is really important, and it is really nice to be about to promote it and help them out. We are very happy and we have a lot of people to thank for this.”
