The Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA) announced the summer polo procedures that will come into action from May 17, 2021, in accordance with the government guidelines regarding easing COVID-19 restrictions. The most important measure states that spectators will be allowed at games. This means that outdoor sporting events are permitted to host 4,000 people or 50% of the venue’s capacity (whichever is smaller). For outdoor seated venues, up to 10,000 spectators are allowed, or 25% capacity.
Although the pandemic is still present, England is moving forward and easing restrictions while following health and safety procedures. Unlike last year, the polo season will welcome spectators. Hooray!
