The high goal Terralpa Silver Cup, the second leg of the 53rd. International Polo Tournament Andalucía, started on Wednesday July 31, with the contest between La Dolfina Dos Lunas and Sainte Mesme. Both teams clashed at Ayala Polo Club, on Los Pinos ground 4.
It was the second game of the season for the French-based foursome, while the Spaniard-Argentinian lineup made their debut. The match was very close and balanced, and both teams exchanged the leadership thoroghout the six chukkas of play. At the end of the day, victory went to La Dolfina Dos Lunas by a tight 14-13.
La Dolfina Dos Lunas and Sainte Mesme will return to action on Sunday August 4 – the former will clash against Dubai at 5,30pm while the latter will meet Kazak, at 7pm.
With regards to the low goal Silver Cup, 1896 Polo beat Grupo Mendizabal 10-7 and Polo Valley earned a close 12-11 win over Essso.
The Silver Cup in Sotogrande will resume on Thursday August 1, with the following order of play:
- High goal
7pm: Dubai vs. Kazak (Ayala, Los Pinos ground 3)
- Medium goal:
7pm: Brunei vs. John Smith (Ayala, Los Pinos ground 2)
