Dubai, the recent winners of the British Open, at Cowdray Park Polo Club, in England, claimed the hight Terralpa Silver Cup, after beating MB Polo in the championship match that took place on Saturday August 17, at Ayala Polo Club. The last time the Albwardy family’s organisation won the contest was in 2022.
Like in the final at Cowdray Park, three weeks ago, the decisive match in Sotogrande saw cousins Jeta Castagnola (Dubai) and Poroto Cambiaso (MB Polo) going head-to-head for the second final of the 53rd. International Polo Tournament Andalucía.
Following three very balanced first chukkas, and with MB Polo’s Rufino Laulhé already delivering an impressive performance, Dubai took control of the situation from the fourth chukka onwards, led by the always indomitable Jeta Castagnola. It’s worth to note that Rashid Albwardy contributed with a couple of goals to seal the deal and secure the championship for his team.
Therefore, Dubai will get into the Turkish Airlines Gold Cup strong enough, to defend the title they obtained last year.
