The polo season in Argentina is underway. Following the San Jorge Open, action continues with the Jockey Club Open, and the High Goal Metropolitan Championship, is due to start on Monday September 16. The tournament, one of the most significant and traditional withing the spring season, will see twenty four teams up to 24 goals, in participation. Teams are split in six leagues.
Patagones and La Esquina are set to play the opening match, next Monday. The final is due to be played on Sunday October 6, the day after the championship match of the Hurlingham Open, the first leg of the prestigious Triple Crown.
Two 10-goalers are among the players who will take part of the tournament – Poroto Cambiaso and Barto Castagnola. As usual, there will be plenty of players who compete in the Triple Crown, such as Polito Pieres, Nico and Gonzalito Pieres, the Panelo brothers, Cruz Heguy, Torito Ruiz Jorba, Joaquín Pittaluga, Juano Britos and Nachi Du Plessis, as well as many young and foreign players.
