El Overo Z7 UAE and Martindale are the respective winners of the Gold and Silver Cup of the High Goal Metropolitan Championship. The final took place on Monday, September 19, at the AAP Heaquarters in Pilar. The Metropolitan Championships are played in three levels – high, medium, and low goal – and are among the most interesting tournaments of the season in Argentina. The high goal saw teams up to 24 goals compete.
The Gold Cup went to El Overo Z7 UAE, who narrowly beat La Cañada La Plegaria (received one goal on handicap) 13-12 in extra chukka, with Bartolomé Castagnola Jr. scoring the winning goal. Meanwhile, Martindale took the Silver Cup after a 10-8 win over La Mariana Brava.
