Talandracas and Monterosso were victorious on Saturday July 3, following another league matchday of the Gold Cup for the British Open. Both teams defeated UAE and BP Polo, respectively.
The tournament, hosted by Cowdray Park Polo Club, set in Midhurst, West Sussex, is one of the Grand Slams de Polo alongside the Argentine Open and the US Open, and sees thirteen teams up to 22 goals, compete.
In the day’s opening game, Talandracas, led by the powerful Camilo Castagnola and Diego Cavanagh on attack, defeated UAE, the recent winners of the Queen’s Cup, by a 11-8 score. Up next, Monterosso claimed a 11-8 victory against BP Polo, who have Nicolás Pieres filling in for the injured Juan Martín Nero. In the sixth chukka, Richard Blake-Thomas replaced Joevy Beh.
The Gold Cup for the British Open will continue on Sunday July 4:
