Talandracas and Park Place claimed wins in the second day of the British Open Gold Cup, held on Wednesday, June 26.
The Gold Cup, the most prestigious title in European polo, is hosted by Cowdray Park Polo Club, set in Midhurst, West Sussex, and sees ten 22-goal teams in competition.
Talandracas fought hard in the second half of the match to make a comeback; they battled back from 2-6 down score at the end of the third chukka to finally beat Dubai by 8 goals to 7.
Next, Park Place defeated La Bamba de Areco 11-7. Jean-François Decaux’s team played with an unchanged lineup, which included Pelón Stirling. As Adolfo Cambiaso, Stirling’s potential replacement, told PoloLine, Pelón was injected and able to play.
The Gold Cup resumes on Saturday, June 29.
