Ojo Caliente remained in the winning path within medium goal in England, after claiming the Duke of Sutherland Cup, the most prestigious 18-goal tournament hosted by Cowdray Park Polo Club. In the championship match, played on Sunday June 11, they beat La Irenita 7-6, and secured Ana Escobedo’s lineup their third title of the season, following the Queen Mother’s Centenary Trophy (15-goal), at Guards Polo Club and the Oxforshire Cup (18-goal), at Black Bears Polo Club.
The final was a very balanced contest until the fourth chukka, when Ojo Caliente took off in order to outscore La Irenita through goals by Penalty 1, followed by two more from MVP Félix Esain and John Paul Clarkin. Poroto Cambiaso, who subbed in for Pablo MacDonough in La Irenita, added one; but the damage has been already done and Ojo Caliente maintained the lead until the end.
THE FINAL OF THE DUKE OF SUTHERLAND WAS STREAMED LIVE ON COWDRAY TV, PRODUCED BY POLOLINE TV.
