Dubai Wolves won the Dubai Silver Cup, one of the two highlights of the season hosted at Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, following the championship match that took place on Saturday February 1. Habtoor Al Habtoor and Co. defeated UAE by a narrow 7-6, to earn the title for the first time ever
Although UAE finished the first chukka leading 1-0, and extended their advatage to 3-1 in the second. But Dubai Wolves bounced back quickly; by the end of that second episode, they were tied at 3-all. Sheikha Maitha’s team managed to re-take the lead in the third chukka (5-3), but once again Dubai Wolves made a comeback and tied again, 6-all, with one chukka remaining. When all seemed said and done, and an extra chukka was probably expected, a foul was awarded to Dubai Wolves. It was Rosendo Torreguitar who converted the 30-yards penalty to secure Dubai Wolves the title.
Prior to the main final, Ghantoot and Habtoor clashed for the Subsidiary Cup, in another tight contest, that went to the former after who earned a 9-8 win.
