UAE and Jehangiri are through the final of the Dubai Gold Cup, following the semifinals that were played on Wednesday February 19, at the magnificient Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. UAE and newcomers, Jehangiri, stepped into the decisive match after beating Habtoor and Ghantoot, respectively.

 

Sheikha Al Maktoum and her boys dominated the first semifinal from the start, earning an early 4-0 lead in the first chukka. UAE seized the reins to hold on to the lead, until they sealed the 8-5 win that gave the runner up of the past Dubai Silver Cup, the first spot in the final.

 

The second semifinal was the clash of the experienced as well as one of the strongest organisations of the Middle East, Ghantoot, and the newcomers, Jehangiri. And against all odds, Jehangiri, with Gonzalito Pieres and Alejandro Muzzio in the lineup, made it – they won 10-9 and will clash against UAE in the decisive match. It’s worth to notice that all of Jehangiri’s goals were scored by Gonzalito (7) and Alejandro (3).

 

The finals of the Dubai Gold Cup will take place on Saturday, February 22, as follows:
