The last league games of the 20-goal Dubai Gold Cup, the highlight of the polo season in the Middle East, were played thoroghout Saturday February 15 and Sunday February 17, at the magnificient Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, in Dubai. Following the latest results, UAE, Ghantoot, Jehangiri and Habtoor qualified to the semifinals.
Habtoor (1-2) and Bangash (0-3) played their contest on Saturday. While the former had great chances to advance to the next stage, the latter needed a miracle. But Habtoor was strong enough to dominate their contenders and claim a 11-7 win, that led them to the semifinals.
On Sunday, there was a double matchdate. The first was indeed very promising – Ghantoot (3-0) vs. the recent winners of the Silver Cup, Dubai Wolves (1-2).
