Park Place defeated Scone by 14 goals to 11 to win the CV Whitney Cup, the first leg of The Gauntlet of Polo, at International Polo Club Palm Beach, on Sunday, February 27. The result meant that Andrey Borodin’s organisation (Josh Hyde subbed in for Andrey) retained the title they won in 2021, also against Scone. This time David Paradice was back in the saddle. The CV Whitney Cup saw nine teams, up to 22 goals, compete.
The first three chukkas saw Scone – who received a goal on handicap – take the lead, bu Park Place bounced back at half time to tie the game 8-all. The two last chukkas belonged to the reigning champions, and they were able to claim the 14-11 win in order to secure the first Gauntlet of Polo title of the year for a second season in a row.
