Following the rain delay, the Barriere Deauville Polo Cup, kicked off on Monday August 5, with the first competition, the Coupe d’Argent, at the Deauville International Polo Club, in Deauville, Normandy, France. The tournament sees four teams up to 16 goals, and the final will take place on Sunday August 11.
Both contests were very tight and ended in extra chukka. In the first, Lolo Bayugar produced the winning goal to secure Mungo a 9-8 win over Talandracas. Up next, Barriere claimed a 14-13 victory over Marqués de Riscal, with Juan-Gris Zavaleta scoring the golden goal.
The Coupe d’Argent will resume on Thursday August 8:

LADIES POLO CUP
In the meantime, the Ladies Polo Cup will commence on Tuesday August 6, with five teams up to 14 goals (ladies handicap), compete. The championship match is due on Saturday August 10.
