Marqués de Riscal and Barriere qualified to the championship match of the Coupe d’Argent, the first leg of the Barriere Deauville Polo Cup, following the semifinals that took place on Thursday August 8, at the Deauville International Polo Club, set in Normandy, France. The competition sees four teams up to 16 goals, in participation.
In the first contest of the day, Alejandro Aznar’s Marqués de Riscal claimed a narrow 9-8 win over Mungo. Up next, Barriere needed an extra chukka to beat Talandracas 13-12, with the golden goal produced by Juan Gris Zavaleta in the 30 additional seconds in extra time.
Marqués de Riscal and Barriere will go head-to-head for the Coupe d’Argent on Sunday August 11 at 5,30pm; meanwhile, Talandracas and Mungo will clash for the Subsidiary, on Saturday August 10.

LADIES POLO CUP
The Ladies Polo Cup at the Deauville International Polo Cup, kicked off on Tuesday August 6. The tournament sees five teams up to 14 goals (ladies handicap), and the final is set to be played on Saturday August 10.

The final of the Ladies Cup will be unveiled on Friday August 9, after the match between MC DO Deauville and La Monarquía at 5,30pm.
